A thankful surrender

You overwhelm me

Eyes staring into mine

I can see into your heart

Afraid to let you see mine

To let you see my soul

Would be to admit defeat

Defeat is something

That I’ve never known

But I think that I’m going to

Terrified, I open my eyes

And let down the wall

That had never been let down
